Beulah A. Marriott, 95, of Columbia, will be held 2pm Thursday, October 6,
2005, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by
Chaplain Donna Peele. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Serving as
pallbearers will be Chuck Reed, Allen Reed, Reed Finch and William Finch.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Regal, Jr., Jason Regal and John Grimes. The
family will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Wednesday evening at the funeral
home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P. O. Box 7044,
Columbia, SC 29202 or the Lutheran Hospice, 1505 Blanding Street, Columbia, SC
29201.
Mrs. Marriott, widow of Barney Marriott, died Monday, October 03, 2005. Born in Seneca, SC, she was a daughter of the late Thompson Duncan and Marie Morgan Allen. She was a member of Main Street Methodist Church, the Kings Daughters and Circle 6.
Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Bob and Sara Marriott, and David L. Marriott of Columbia; 3 grandchildren, Teri and Bobby Marriott and Chuck Grube; 2 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Marriott was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Grube, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

According to the recollections of Beverley Anne Rimes Barney Marriott became ill with pancreatic cancer and retired from New York to live full time in Columbia SC with his family. Barney is buried at Elmwood Memorial in Columbia, SC.
Aunt Beulah's second son Bobby Marriott died at a convalescent home in Columbia SC. Bobby's wife Teri had predeceased him.
