Charles Allen Reed, to be known as Allen, was born on September 28, 1940 at the Columbia Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina to Charles William and Ruth Doris Allen Reed. He was the their first born child. Allen's first home was at 2019 Gadsden Street in Columbia. Allen being the one in the striped shirt with brother Tom and sister Marie in the background about 1946.
