Charles Talmadge Allen, or Uncle Talmadge to me, was one of the most favorite persons I remember visiting. As I remember it he was a constable at the nuclear plant, or bomb plant as it was referred to at the time, in Barnwell SC. I later found he was referred to as Chuck Allen there. Uncle Talmadge was a big strong guy as I remember it and was always in a happy mood when he visited mom. I remember his children, Parker and Beverly. Beverly often visited when she was in nurses training at the old Columbia Hospital on Harden Street in Columbia. Uncle Talmadge shown in residence at Epworth Orphanage in 1930 with his sister Doris and brother Thompson William.
